Updated:  03/17/2009 at 10:32 PM
Champaign, IL - The Fighting Illini (2-0) are set to break their two and a half week hiatus when they take on the Marquette Golden Eagles (0-5) this Friday March 20 at the Techny Turf Fields (map) in Northbrook.  Despite already being in April, this is only the Fighting Illini’s 3rd contest of the season.  They enter with a record of 2-0, 1-0 in the GRLC.  The Illini will try to continue their impressive offensive streak that saw them post 16 goals in their last game, a 16-5 winner over Indiana University.

The Marquette Golden Eagles come into the contest with a record of 0-5, after dropping contests to #5 Minnesota-Duluth, #21 San Diego State, UC-San Diego, San Diego, and previous #25 Claremont College.  The game will be played at the Techny Turf Fields in Northbrook, Illinois.

After a quick rest, the Illini will travel to Texas on Sunday March 22.  The team is set to play Texas A&M (6-6) in College Station, TX on Monday March 23.  They will then follow the game the next night with a contest in Austin, Texas against #22 University of Texas (9-2).  Both will prove to be tough, formidable opponents that have already played over half of their MCLA schedule.
